Geraldine Oh aka the copy guru currently sits in Singapore–creating ideas and weaving stories for brands as a freelance advertising consultant. But don’t be surprised if she does a Zoom call with you from a cave hotel in Cappadocia. Wherever she may be, you can trust this digital nomad to be in a place where there’s strong Wi-Fi and coffee–where she’s able to conceive original ideas and convey them to her client.
As a seasoned creative, she has been copywriting for iconic brands like Intel, Sony, Nivea, Mastercard and Heineken at ad agencies (big and small) for over 20 years. From crafting engaging social content to thinking up straplines and taglines that a brand can run a campaign with; she believes in making any piece of communication simple but significant. And that approach has manifested in happy clients, pitch wins, agency awards, and accolades at the New York Festivals and Effies.
In case you’re wondering as well, Geraldine does have a life outside of advertising. She had co-written an original screenplay and co-produced a feature film that was screened at the Seattle Film Festival in 2008. And when she isn’t in a client meeting or yoga studio, she can usually be found with her teenage daughter–writing and illustrating their “children’s” book together. Or discussing the sub-genres of 90’s music with her musician son.
The Geraldine that you see on the left here is what you’ll find on Linkedin. On a normal day, she’ll probably be clad in activewear, hunched over a Macbook or notebook–thinking of her next, new idea.
